How do I use a Crestron controlled instructor station?

Resolution:  To control an instructor station that has an Crestron unit on the desk, see the instructions below.

Starting the class

  • To start using the instructor station in the classroom, tap on the screen. A loading par will now appear on the screen anInsert Row Afterd take a moment to load. In this time, the projector screen will turn on.

Changing the input source

  • To change the input source to your preferred source, you simply need to tap the button across the top.
    • The instructor station is the default source
    • Laptop 1 refers to Laptop HDMI, if bringing your own device that has a HDMI port
    • Laptop 2 refers to Laptop VGA, if bringing your own device that has a VGA port
      • Note, you will need to plug in the 3/8" jack to hear audio in the classroom

Using the Ceiling Mounted Document Camera

  • To use the Ceiling Mounted Document Camera, tap on the 'Doc Cam' option on the Crestron screen
  • From there, projector and the computer monitor will switch over to the document camera's view 
    • The document camera will have a red laser dot on the desk/table of what it will be seeing
  • You can use the zoom in/out buttons, along with the auto-focus to improve the field of view

Adjusting the volume

  • To change the volume, you can press the Up/Down arrow for the slider on the bottom of the screen
  • Can also use the green mute button to entirely mute the audio output

 

Turning off the projector, but not the system

  • To turn off the projector only but keep the rest of the system turned on, go to Utilities in the bottom left corner
  • Tap Projector Off/On.
    • This will turn the projector off until you turn it back on
    • This method should only be used when it'll be off for several minutes
  • To mute the projector, or temporarily hide, what is on the projector, tap the Video Mute On/Off button
  • To put the screen up or down, simply tap Screen Up/Down in this same menu

 

To turn off the system at the conclusion of class

  • Make sure you are signed out of the computer
  • Turn off the entire system at the conclusion of your class by pressing the SYSTEM OFF button in the bottom right corner
  • Confirm your choice to shut down by pressing Yes
  • The projector and Crestron system will now begin shutting down. 
  • It will take several minutes before the system is usable again.
