How to Separate a PDF Into 2 or More Files

  • There are several methods to separate a PDF into multiple smaller PDFs. One of the simplest options is to print to PDF, selecting only the pages you want included. Below is a 20-page PDF being used to create a PDF of pages 1, 5, and 20.

  • Below is an example using Adobe Acrobat.

  • You can also accomplish this using the web version of Adobe Acrobat by navigating to the web location HERE, signing in if prompted, uploading the document, selecting where you want it to split, hitting continue, and then save.

  • Then select which of the split files you need, and hit the download symbol.

  • In Acrobat Pro, click the pages button on the right side, click the pages you want in your new document, click options, then extract.
