How do I share files in OneDrive?

Resolution: 

 

To share a document in BrightSpace that has been uploaded to OneDrive, follow the steps below:

 

1)  Log into OneDrive with your SUNY Canton credentials by clicking HERE

 

2)  Create a folder for your class by selecting the blue '+ New' button in the upper left corner

3)  Open your newly created folder

 

4)  Select 'Uploadfrom the menu across the top

5)  Depending on what you want to upload, either a File or Folder, select that option

 

6)  Navigate to the file/folder on your PC

 

7)  Once you find the item you are looking for, select the 'Open' option in the bottom right corner of the box

 

8)  After your file uploads, right-click on the file so that you can see the share option and click on it

 

9)  Locate the Share button

10)  In the menu that opens, select 'People you specify can edit' at the top of the window

11)  Under Link Settings, select People in SUNY Canton with the link

 

12)  UNCHECK the Allow Editing option under 'Other Settings'

13)  If you'd like, you can opt to Block download by toggling the button in the bottom right

 

14)  Hit Apply when you are satisfied with your changes

 

15)  At the bottom, select the Copy Link button

16)  A link will be generated and automatically be copied

17)  From there, you can send the link to whomever you choose or attach it as a course item in BrightSpace.
