What is a Site in SharePoint?
Summary
A guide on how to navigate though SharePoint using the navigation panel options.
Body
A SharePoint site is where conversations, news, documents, and other information are shared with the members of a SharePoint group.
You can navigate through SharePoint site content via the navigation panel. All of the possible options you may run into are as follows:
Home - brings you to the home page for the site.
Conversations - opens the "Groups" section of Outlook.
News - shows any posted news for the site.
Notebook - opens OneNote to a shared OneNote notebook.
Documents - shows all of the documents that have been shared on the site.
Site Contents - contains documents, old versions of the site pages, and all site-related content.
Pages - If the site contains multiple pages, they will be here, as well as older versions of pages.
Recycle bin - stores deleted SharePoint content.
Link - it is common to have links to commonly used websites on the navigation panel.
Label - creates a static item used to label a section of the navigation panel.
Calendar - opens the SharePoint calendar view.
Planner - opens Microsoft Planner.
Teams - opens the Microsoft Teams to the Teams page that is linked to the SharePoint page.
If you have any Teams under the Teams tab while using Microsoft Teams, those are simply a way to access the SharePoint site content (see the image below).
