What should I do if I have received a Phishing Email or responded to one?

Resolution:

*** If you are unfamiliar with the structure or presentation of a phishing or scam email, please see our previous KB article HERE that details how to spot a fraudulent email. ***

1) If you believe to have received a "phish" email, please forward it directly to abuse@canton.edu so that it can be evaluated for its validity, and subsequently blocked if necessary.

2) Make sure to NEVER reply to a phishing email, click any links, download any attachments, or enter any information in fillable forms.

3) If you did mistakenly do any of the above, you must change your password IMMEDIATELY. If you are unsure how to do this, please follow the steps located HERE.

4) You must now register for MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) as it adds an extra layer of security to your account, and make sure going forward you are the only one accessing your account and sensitive information. You can find the steps to do this HERE

5) If you have any problems attempting to reset your password, or configuring MFA, please contact the Help Desk for further assistance at our usual methods below.
